NEWS ON OUR 2018 BEE-KEEPING EDUCATION COURSES

Learn all you need to know by joining our popular

'New Bee Keepers Course'. 

Over six weekend Sunday sessions, starting on  Sunday 22nd April, our students will learn all they need to know to be able to start bee keeping. 

There is the opportunity to handle live bees from the start of the course.  

The "Hands on" training will take place at our Association Apiary at Hasland, Chesterfield.

Bee suits are available for use during the course.

Our successful BBKA Basic Assessment in Bee Husbandry will again  be taught by Graham Robinson to CDBKA Members with a course introduction by June Harvey.

We are proud to say we have had a 100% pass rate on this course since its' commencement -   so come and have a go - pass and get a certificate for your wall and a sew on badge for your bee suit !!

The course will be held this year in a side room at the Whittington Moor Methodist Church Hall. the venue is where we hold our social and microscopy meetings.   Training will be over a 6 week evening course of approx 2hrs per session [7 to 9p.m.]                It will commence on [TBA as we are awaiting confirmation from the venue ] .

The start date is designed to help  avoid the main holiday weeks that in previous years  have seen several persons going missing mid course.  

Finally, remember this is not a written exam, but is simply an oral and a bee handling test to see what you have learned so far as a beekeeper.

The course is free to members, so as they say in Yorkshire " No Cost Nowt Lost !!

Back by popular demand .........

This will be a one day event, where anyone interested in becoming a beekeeper can get a  look at what it is all about. You will have the opportunity to question the instructor and to look into a working hive. Beesuits will be provided.

At least, after a few hours, you will know whether keeping bees is for you!

If it is then please take note of the above information about The Beginners Course as this is where you will gain loads of good information and do some practical work with bees too.
