Our 'Newbie' Bee keepers Course started on   

March 19th.


Over six weekend sessions they will learn all you need to start bee keeping, with the opportunity to handle live bees from day one.  Bee suits are available for use during the course sessions.

 The course for this year is now closed but.........

Places will be limited for 2018 Course, so please contact June Harvey -  OR, be our guest at the next social meeting  on April 10th, at Whittington Moor Methodist Church Hall, 7.30pm.   You will be most welcome, we look forward to meeting you and answering any questions you may have.

This course fee includes 1 Year Associate Membership of C&DBKA (worth £10) which makes it even better value for money! 

BBKA Basic Assessment in Bee Husbandry

Graham Robinson will be starting to teach the 6 week 2017 Course on Tuesday May 2nd this year. This earlier date will help  avoid the main holiday weeks that last year saw several persons going missing mid course.  Remember this is not a  written exam, but is simply a test to see what you have learned so far as a beekeeper.

Back by popular demand .........

This will be a one day event, where anyone interested in becoming a beekeeper can get a  look at what it is all about. You will have the opportunity to question the instructor and to look into a working hive. Beesuits will be provided.

At least, after a few hours, you will know whether keeping bees is for you!

If it is then please take note of the above information about The Beginners Course as this is where you will gain loads of good information and do some practical work with bees too.
